Cotswold RAW came into being as a result of an impromptu car conversation between subsequent co-founders Chris & Mark. Chris had taken on a sick puppy some months earlier and despite countless dietary experiments and veterinary visits her health refused to improve. Mark spoke with great authority an eating regime he’d practiced with his family pets for many years and Chris was intrigued.
It transpired that spiralling veterinary costs are often triggered by poor pet diet regimes, eating meals that are either nutritionally vacant or made with sub-standard/inappropriate ingredients. Poor diets can have countless health implications including: itchy skin, runny stools, bad breath, inflamed gums, lacklustre coats and weak bone joints.
Cotswold RAW was born. The next step was to assemble a rudimentary range of recipes (sausages and minces) and take them to a series of county shows to gauge opinions among their learned dog breeding and rearing communities. The feedback was exceptional, especially for the sausages format which provided a perfect, portion-controlled 1st step for 1st time BARF recruits.
In 2016 Cotswold RAW’s innovative sausages won the prestigious PET QUIP award for category innovation.
