The other week The Food Sauce team alongside their food photographer Tom Waller, Food envy photography and associated bloggers were given behind the scenes access to The Potato Project as an opportunity to sample their NEW Summer menu.
The event was a special bloggers MEET-UP for bloggers. It was a way for us here at Sauce HQ to link bloggers with this new project-yes pun intended and as a means to say thankyou to them, our sponsors, friends and everyone who has supported our work during the last 12 months.
It was a chance to sample a selection of their wonderful menu from our friends The Potato Project and delicious refreshments courtesy of our friends Nix&Kix.
The Potato Project was founded by Ksenia Karpenko who has vast experience within hospitality and catering industry as her previous role was as sommelier at Four to Eight restaurant in Covent Garden.
The establishment opened in October 2015 and remains a highly popular choice for Londoners at lunchtime
The tasty menu was absolutely out of this world you can tell that they really have catered for various palettes.
For starters we were treated to an arsenal of salads & sides which consisted of Watermelon & Tomato Salad with Roasted Goat Cheese (v), Avocado with Chickpeas (v).
Alongside Roasted Carrots with Stracciatella & Mango Chutney (v). All these flavours washed down with a Nix&Kix Rich Mango & Zingy Ginger.
For the Sweet Potato fanatics whom I do admit I am a fan this was an oasis of healthy superfoods mixed with rich flavours.
Sweet Potato Leviche style superfood, Sweet Potato with Quinoa, Kale, Almonds & Pomegranate (v). Sweet Potato with Mozzarella, Pesto & Sun dried Tomato (v) complemented with a Nix & Kix succulent Peach & Smooth Vanilla.
The final main selection was again a mixed variety that worked well together. This was the Chilli Beef Ragu & Blue Cheese worked well alongside the Borlotti Bean, Tomato & Mature Cheddar Cheese (v).
The Tuna Mayonnaise with Roasted Corn and Pickled Red Onion was lovely…so lovely in fact I took a takeaway box home for my tea.
This dish was perfect with Nix&Kix Cool Cucumber & Fresh Mint.
The Dessert also had a Potato Project theme believe it or not this consisted of Sweet Potato Tartlet with Honey, Ginger, Mint, Almonds & Vanilla ice cream.
