A few weeks ago we were given the opportunity courtesy of The Jam Tree (Clapham) to put our cocktail skills to the test as part of their Rum Festival month learning how to make the perfect Espresso Rumtini with Pirates Grog Rum.
I must say I have been to a few cocktail making masterclasses in my time, but this one was very interesting due to our engaging host Gareth Noble.
One of Pirates Grog’s most popular masterclases! Pirates Grog brand owner Gareth, showed us how to make the perfect Espresso Rumtini which uses only the finest ingredients, including smooth Pirates Grog five year golden rum and the dangerously delicious Black Ei8ht Coffee Rum…. delicious nice and smooth.
We were given a talk on the history of the rum such as where it all comes from? As well as How it all began? Whilst at the same time enjoying a tasting session featuring each of the three Pirates Grog rums, including the multi award winning Pirates Grog No13.
The second half of the session was where the fun and games really started to kick in as it featured a cocktail making workshop as we guests got the chance to make our own signature cocktails a little shaking here and their.
To compliment this wonderful event we were also treated to sample a selection of dishes from the restaurants Rum Festival BBQ menu.
Treats included Pulled BBQ joint, Taco (Vegan Gluten Free) with crushed avocado, jalapeno and cucumber salsa.
Mojto Glazed Rubs- with celery, apple and walnut salad.
What impressed me the most, although not a huge fan of seafood were the Soy and Chilli Glazed King Prawns served with Citrus dressed wild rice and butternut squash salad.
Overall the event was very enjoyable and would love to experience the event again.
