We’ve long been frustrated by the popular misconception that when it comes to fine British food, that the South West and Home Counties are nearly always perceived as this nation’s larder. Yes the south has a lot to offer and Southern based businesses often have access to more extensive investment schemes during the ‘early, formative years,’ but that certainly shouldn’t mean that Northern businesses shouldn’t do everything in their power to compete.
Our stance has certainly always been one of always going the extra yard, never contemplating compromise and never wondering, ‘I wish we’d been a little braver with our flavours.’
The real advantage of a family business is less bureaucracy and joined up thinking, a business that leans less towards timid flavour profiles and a ‘play safe’ mindset adopted by a majority of our corporate peers.
We can never win in terms of price points and economies of scale, which is why innovation and bold flavour decks are the foundation stones of our business.
