What is your drink startup?
T plus has been created to offer something completely new in the world of hot drinks. We make a range of teas that are more healthy, functional and better tasting than anything that exists in the world of tea. We do this by blending green tea with herbs, fruit and daily essential vitamins to create a functional range. Our first four teas at launch are:
t + boost – an energising blend of green tea, yerba mate, ginseng and energy releasing b vitamins
t + detox – A cleansing blend of green tea, milk thistle, ginger root and added C and B vitamins.
t + immunitea – An immune boosting blend of green tea, echinacea, ginseng and 50% RDA vitamin C per cup.
t + Multea – An all round blend of green tea goodness, rosemary, spearmint, cardamom and 9 daily essential vitamins.
While our teas are designed to do you good and taste good, we also aim to ‘share the health’. With every box of t plus sold we donate £0.10 to our partner charity Vitamin Angels who work wit malnourished children and new mums around the world. In particular we participate in their Vitamin A supplement programmed with our ongoing donations.
What inspired you to start your business?
My wife Jade and I started the business as two health conscious people that tried as hard as we could to like green tea, herbal tea, fruit tea, yerba mate, matcha and everything else on trend and either couldn’t deal with the taste or were left wanting more from each option. That’s why we took it on ourselves to try and bring innovation to the world of tea that had come to the world of coffee. After 12 months of consultations, lessons and learning’s from the best tea blenders and nutritionists from London to Colombo, we finally created what we like to call – the smarter tea!
What is unique about your business?
t plus is unique on two fronts. Firstly, what we put in the bag. Our teas are unlike anything that exists on the tea or hot drink aisle. We take the best bits of green tea, herbal tea, fruit tea and vitamin supplements are combine them to make a unique blend in terms of health properties and taste.
Secondly, we don’t look or acts like any other tea company We stand out from the often boring world of tea and inject colour and fun into the world of tea and health to stand t plus out from the competition.
What methods do you use to advertise your product?
We spend a lot of time sampling and talking with our customers at events like Yoga shows, Vegan festivals, sports events and even sampling during the rush hour at busy commuter hubs. There is nothing we love more than introducing people to our range of smarter teas. We also maintain a strong online presence both through social media, newsletters and in our blog hub where we regular feature guest bloggers and ‘smarter’ blog series.
