What is unique about your drink start-up?
Our shakes are luxurious. They are indulgent. A real treat – more the creaminess and texture of melted ice cream. They have small pieces blended throughout our mix of fresh British milk and cream – pieces of Belgian chocolate, real strawberries, chocolate cookies…. This is what makes us unique, along with our innovative flavours. There is no other bottled milkshake on the market that blends real food pieces into every bottle. We were a ‘first-to-market’ range when we launched in 2013, and we remain one today.
What inspired you to start your business?
I love milkshakes. I’ve an undeniable sweet tooth and milkshakes are up there as a favourite indulgence of mine! At the time I began building the business I was a food buyer at M&S, and I realised that even with the vast array of milkshakes out there on the market, I couldn’t find a single shake I would call ‘satisfying’. Nowhere amongst the bottled shakes was there a product made using really decent, high-grade, flavoursome ingredients, or that had any texture to it. Something indulgent – aimed more at adults rather than kids. In my opinion there was a huge gap. So I decided to make my own.
What is unique about your business?
Along with the important fact that our product is entirely unique, we are still a fairly small business, but are all dedicated to working together in order to run a tight ship. We are always looking forward and have recently moved to a larger factory equipped with the tools we need in order to grow the business. Between us we successfully managed a hugely complex move. But on top of this, what makes us a really unique business is our dedication to providing a more personal service to our consumers. We welcome feedback and will respond to anyone in touch with us – our social media sites are a priority alongside all the necessary functional and practical day to day jobs. We genuinely believe in keeping in touch with our fans and providing a reliable personal service.
What methods do you use to advertise your product?
As our marketing budget is limited right now, we rely on the use of social media and numerous competitions we run within this remit to help spread the word about our brand. We link up with like-minded business and bloggers to help increase our followers – and hence brand awareness. As the business moves forward and we become more widely accessible we plan to establish a wider plan incorporating a mix of marketing channels.
