WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION TO START YOUR FOOD BLOG?
The Betty Stamp actually started its young life as more of a lifestyle blog. However, the posts I most enjoyed writing about were when I’d baked or cooked something delicious (clearly because it gave me an excuse to eat more!) Also, I just really love feeding people, I’m a feeder. It’s always fun to see family/friends’ reactions when you’ve baked them something delicious from scratch, so The Betty Stamp’s food addiction evolved from there really.
WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL BE THE BIGGEST FOOD TRENDS OF 2016?
Hmm, tricky one, everyone seems to be buzzing about chia seeds recently! All over my Instagram feed are pictures of smoothie bowls and chia puddings. Health foods seem to be all the rage, so I’d go with a weird and wonderful berry or seed!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT?
Roasts. All of the roasts. With all of the Yorkshire puddings. My boyfriend is from York so he taught me (well…his mum did) how to make proper Yorkshire puddings. We grew up on Aunt Bessie’s (sinners!). Cheese also, mainly Wensleydale with cranberries, piled on top of a cracker with chutney. Mmm.
FAVOURITE RESTAURANT AND WHY?
Oh gosh, do pubs count? As I recently visited a pub in the middle of nowhere in Somerset called The Oakhill Inn and the grub was to die for! If it’s strictly restaurants then I have an obsession with the sushi at Tsunami in Clapham. They now do take out…it’s changed my life.
