Last week The Food Sauce team made their way to Bread & Jam Festival. As we could not get enough of it last year we thought that we would go again and see what other treats the Bread & Jam team had up their sleeve.
For those not familiar with Bread & Jam, it is UK’s first food founder’s festival. This event took place at The Institute of Directors in Pall Mall, London.
It is an annual event, which boasts a two- day, programme which includes a mixture of expert panels, discussions from entrepreneurs (more on that later) as well as workshops.
The festival is founded by Tara Mei & Jason Gibb as the duo with the help of their closely knit team help support independent producers overcome various hurdles as part of their stages in development.
We attended various speaker line-ups from entrepreneurs such as Hugh Thomas, Ugly Drinks, co-founder. Hugh spoke about the story of Ugly Drinks and the rollercoaster ride of bringing his fruit flavoured sparkling water to the market.
In the afternoon we heard another inspiring story from Wilfred Emanuel Jones, The Black Farmer, founder. As part of his “The Sausage Millionaire – How he did it – panel discussion he talked about his upbringing, journey and how he built a £20m sausage empire.
Overall Bread & Jam was a very fun, enjoyable and inspiring event. It was also a good opportunity to hear from food entrepreneurs and network with like-minded individuals within the food/drink industry
Roll on next year where I am sure will be there with our notepads and pens at the ready!
