As someone who came from the highly competitive corporate food scene, one of the highlights of becoming an underdog brand owner is discovering just how supportive the foodie fraternity is.
For example, it was our inclusion in an Observer Food Monthly Goodies bag that led to orders from The Rick Stein Group, Fortnum & Mason and The Fat Duck Grou. Similarly it was our presence at Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park that resulted in a very fruitful conversation with Molson Coors and the Sharps public house estate.
If that wasn’t proof enough, we’re also working alongside Snaffling Pig to be part of their hamper offer, even though some people might consider us operating in the same meat snack arena. Elsewhere our alliance with Unearthed is helping us re-establish a regular supply chain of Mangalitza pigs.
We have been overwhelmed with the support and advice that has flowed from the wider British artisan food & drink movement from the day we started, support based upon minding each other’s back.
